Fishing in Bergeforsen
The sport fishing zones includes the lower part of Indalsälven (the River Indal), from the Bergeforsen hydroelectric power plant to the river mouth with the exception of the prohibited fishing zone nearest to the dam. There are maps posted in zones 1 and 2, on the web site and in the information and regulation folder supplied by the fishing licence dealers when buying a fishing licence.
A personal permit for angling according to current regulation, is obtained when buying a fishing licence. Fishing licences for fishing in the river (zones 1 and 2) can be bought or booked beforehand from January 2, Tel. + 46 70-294 51 51. Fishing during the day begins at 07:30 and ends at 18:00, fishing at night from 18:30 to 07:00. For organised fishing in groups there are special rules.

Fishing is free of charge for children and youths up to 15 years of age.
The hydroelectric dam can be regulated at short notice causing changes in current and flow. Awareness of this is necessary when fishing and caution should be taken. This also applies to ice fishing as all fishing is carried out at own risk.
The Bergeforsen fishing area is divided into three zones. Borders are marked by boards on both shores.
Extends from the prohibited zone border below the hydroelectric dam and downstream to the marked border of zone 2. Zone 1 is a boat prohibited zone and only fishing from land is allowed. Worms and other natural baits can be used. Flyfishing is allowed. Fishing takes place either daytime 07:30 – 18:00 or at night 18:30– 07:00.
The fishing licences can be purchased by telephone +46 70 294 51 51 and are delivered by mutual agreement.
During the period July1 – Oct 15 fishing with spoon lures, spinnerbait or wobbler is prohibited in zone 1 and 2.
Licence price is 250 SEK per day or night during the period June 1 – September 30. The rest of the year licence price is 250 SEK.
Extends upstream from the boat prohibited zone (zone 1) and downstream to zone 3. There are a limited number of places. Fishing from land and boat is permitted. Only fishing from hired boats or boats with a permit is allowed. The boats can be anchored. Electric motors are allowed. Flyfishing is allowed. Worms and other natural baits can be used. Fishing takes place either daytime 07:30 – 18:00 or at night 18:30– 07:00.

During the salmonperiod June 15 – Oct 15 fishing with spoon lures, spinnerbait or wobbler is prohibited in zone 2.
Fishing FROM LAND IN ZON 2 is prohibited during the salmonperiod.
Licence price is 200 SEK per day or night.
Fishing in groups for zones 1 and 2 can be arranged. Please contact us and we will try to meet your requirements.
Extends upstream from zone 2 and downstream to the outer border of the river mouth. Fishing from land or boat, hired or private, is allowed. Fishing licences can be bought from the dealers previously mentioned (see above) or by telephone +46 70 294 51 51.
Licence price is 80 SEK/24 h or 800 SEK per year.
During the period July 1– Oct 15 fishing with spoon lures, spinnerbait or wobbler is prohibited in the upper part of zone 3 (Delta 900, see map).
The fishing season 2018 for zones 1 and 2 begins in april 21 and ends depending on the ice situation in the river. See the web site for up-to-date information.
Fishing in zone 3 is permitted all year round.
Fishing at night is prohibited from August 20 2018 –April 21 2019 between 22.00 – 07.30 in zones 1 and 2 and between 22.00 – 05.00 in zone 3.
Fishing – what to catch and when
The Bergeforsen fishing area offers a rich stock of sea trout (best fishing time April-May, Sept-Nov), salmon (best time July-Aug/Sept), whitefish (good fishing during Sept-Nov) and grayling (best period June-Sept).
